Moonalinks House
We are currently working on a new house in Moonalinks, Southern Victoria. The design is for a family holiday home, but is also required to accommodate the entertaining of friends, who will stay over night on the odd occasion.
The house is laid out with a combination of entertainment and open plan areas, and a few more intimate breakout spaces.
The biggest challenge is positioning the building on a steep site that faces south, and which has strict height limitations governed by the local building covernant.
The height constraints have been overcome by stepping the building down the slope. The widest part of the building is at the top end and reduces in width towards the bottom. This allows all living spaces and bedrooms to take advantage of the views. The family living, dining and master bedroom zone is located at the northern end, facing north, and open onto a courtyard and amphitheatre.
